This has been a W-I-L-D week! I am still trying to wrap my head around all of the exciting things that are happening in our lives, and just can’t wait to see how God will continue to use us! I am excited to share it all with you as this week unfolds, so stay tuned!
If you’re not already following me on social media, you can see more behind the scenes pictures and posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @crockpotempire and on Snapchat @crockpotempress. Someone stole my name on Snapchat…who knows what’s being posted over at that handle, just know it’s NOT me! LOL
Our sweet neighbors, who bought our former house, (you can read the post about how we moved six doors down here) just had a baby girl named Ava. I cooked them lasagna (get recipe here) and what goes better with Italian food than garlic bread? I had every intention of creating these cheese in a blanket’s to pair with my meal for them, but I desperately failed in the time management department…did I mention this week was a HOT mess?!?!
So, to reduce my stress, I got in the kitchen today and used the ingredients I bought to make these delicious soft bites of yummy goodness for them! These little croissants just ooze ooey gooey cheese and pair well with any meal, as an appetizer or kiddie munchie! Knox absolutely loves them! It’s cheese and bread #NoBrainer!
Start out with a can of croissants and unroll them. Tear each piece at seam and lay on non-stick or sprayed/greased pan.
In small mixing bowl, place butter, garlic and Italian seasoning if desired. I make these all the time and only use this seasoning if I’m trying to make them fancy!
Melt in microwave approximately 30 seconds and stir until well mixed.
Baste or drizzle and spread dough with mixture.
Slice cheese sticks in half. You can use any flavor cheese and also you can use shredded if that’s all you have on hand. It’s a little messier, but works just as well!
Add cheese and roll up.
Now, baste the tops with another round of butter and seasoning blend. Don’t worry about having garlic breath!
Place in oven and cook approximately 1o minutes until golden brown. Bottoms will cook quicker than the tops and they may not look like they are done after 10 minutes. They will continue to bake even after they are out of the oven and the tops will catch up to a nice golden brown!
I did not butter half of the batch, because I wanted to taste the difference. Sometimes, additional butter and extra calories don’t appeal to everyone. 🙂 These are just as good, even without basting in butter and seasoning and will also alleviate additional time, ingredients and money!
However you decide you want to make them, they are SO delicious and super fast and simple! Even with the butter it only took me 20 minutes to prep! Enjoy these with your next meal!
Don’t forget to stay tuned this week for some fun surprises!!!! Have a Happy Monday, y’all!
