Just like every girl needs a staple little black dress, we all need a staple well-fitted, black blazer. It is a closet must have.
I love this one, because it fits like a glove and hits at the perfect length. Plus, I’m a sucker for the lining of this blazer and love the rolled up cuff for a more casual style.
Keeping with the casual vibe, I paired it with this simple boyfriend V-neck tee and a pair of boyfriend jeans.
My friend, Kate, and I were just talking boyfriend jeans before this shoot, and how cute they look on everyone else, but that we couldn’t pull them off! I promised her it was just what we saw when looking in the mirror and not what others see, and that we could totally rock them! And off to pull a look together I went! I must say, it was difficult to fall in love with them even after I promised it was just our insecurities!
I am still a bit conflicted on how they seem to add extra lb.’s, so of course I had to seek truth! I asked my high school bestie Becky, who is a super smoke show and lives fashion, for her take on the boyfriend jean and this look on me!
“These jeans look fabulous on you, and it may seem off since you are so used to the tight fit of most jeans today. They are a more casual look, and the loose fit is balanced out with a well fitting top to create the perfect look that is not frumpy!”
We both agree that the boyfriend jean is hard to pull off, because we are so used to a tight fit when it comes to jeans, but sometimes less is more when it comes to fit. And I am a fan of that, because it’s nice to ditch the skinnies for a minute and have some comfort without feeling constricted!
Also, this V-Neck tee is our FAVORITE shirt ever! It is so soft and a staple that we own in just about every color! And it’s on sale for only $6.oo?! I also sleep in them and use them for casual loungewear!
Lastly, I wanted to add some elegance and femininity, so I chose these incredibly cute suede d’Orsay pumps that totally pull this look together.
What do ya’ll think about boyfriend jeans? Are they frumpy or fabulous?
