Roasted Candied Pecans
My aunt and cousin make this traditional treat of roasted candied pecans every year at Thanksgiving. We literally stand around the bowl and eat them all day! You want to walk away, but you can’t, they are THAT good!!
Ingredients:
1 egg white
1 tsp water
1 lb pecan halves (I get mine at Costco)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
Non stick foil (this is SUPER important) Reynolds Non Stick Foil
Directions:
Preheat oven 300 degrees
In a large bowl, combine egg white and water and whip with a wire whisk till frothy.
Add pecans and stir to coat with egg whites using a large spoon.
In a separate bowl mix remaining ingredients: sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
Pour the dry ingredients slowly into the pecans mixture and mix with your hands.
Pour into a large rectangular jelly role baking sheet (approx 18×13).
LINE THE PAN WITH NON STICK FOIL!
Bake at 300 degrees for 20-30 min. till roasted to your liking.
Stir often while baking.
The non stick foil will make a huge difference.
Be careful, don’t over bake!
I like my pecans roasted a lot but be careful, they can over roast very quickly.
Enjoy!
