I love to make homemade seasonings that don’t contain all the additives that many of the store bought packets contain and this Homemade Taco Seasoning is better than the packets!
You can use it to season your ground beef and chicken and feel good knowing that it is healthy, MSG free and allows you to adjust the sodium to fit your needs.
I try to make double or even triple the batch, so that I can always have some on hand. With this taco seasoning approximately 3 Tablespoons is equivalent to a taco seasoning store bought packet. I like to add 2/3 cup water with 3 Tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat. You can also add 1 Tablespoon flour to any recipe, which will help the seasoning stick to the meat and make it even more flavorful.
Now you can ditch the packets for good and use this seasoning for recipes like my Crockpot Chicken Fajitas! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do that just yet, since I’m all about that convenience and some days I just don’t have it pre-made hand and need one in a pinch! I will say that you will be able to tell a difference and it will make your meals taste extra fresh!
