When you start trying to make a shift to a healthier lifestyle, it can be overwhelming. You may have seen my original post, 7 Reasons to avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup, and thought, “great now I can’t have applesauce,” or “darn, there goes my favorite crackers!” However, today, I want to show you that avoiding HFCS is very easy and does not have to cost you anymore than you are already spending or sacrificing taste. You just need to turn the package over and check your labels!!
Below, I have put together a grid picture of foods. In each box, the foods are very similar. They have similar calorie counts, a similar price, and a similar taste. However, the foods on the RIGHT in each picture, DO NOT have High Fructose Corn Syrup and the foods on the LEFT do.
All of the foods pictured above, were purchased at Target and are widely available. See, it’s so easy to go grocery shopping and make better choices without inflating your bill. All you have to do is take a few moments and read the ingredients list.
If you want a super easy, fun, and affordable shopping experience, I would recommend heading to your local Trader Joe’s, where they have banned HFCS in all of their products. No reading labels there…you can just purchase with ease.
